Homes For Homes

Homes for Homes is a social enterprise created by The Big Issue Australia to help-end homelessness. Each night over 122,000 people experience homelessness in Australia, while another 1.5 million live in serious housing stress. To tackle this issue, Homes for Homes raises and grants funds for the creation of social and affordable housing. In 10 years, Homes for Homes has granted clsoe to $3 million in funding to 28 social and affordable housing projects across Australia, providing housing for more than 400 people.

The Challenge

With limited internal resources, Homes for Homes needed a simple, effective way to create donation pages that inspired trust and conversion without relying on costly external web developers.

Before Studio, the existing donation forms through the Payments2Us platform met back-end needs but offered little in terms of donor-friendly design:

Donor trust: Donors expressed scepticism about entering personal details on pages that didn’t match the theme of the Homes for Homes website.

No impactful storytelling: Existing forms weren’t able to highlight the tangible difference donations would make, reinforce the organisation’s vision or guide conversion.

High costs: Improving the donor experience would require ongoing web developer involvement, which was expensive and unsustainable.

Technology limitations: Alternative programs offered attractive design tools but had overly complex, Salesforce integration that would involve an extra cost through a third-party connection tool, complicating the process and requiring more resources to manage. The risk involved with alternatives could include constant sync errors, manual checking, difficult reporting and siloed data in multiple systems.

As Homes for Homes prepared to run its first major consumer campaign, the team knew they needed a platform that could deliver both design flexibility and seamless Salesforce integration.

The Solution & Results

Homes for Homes adopted Payments2Us Studio, enabling them to launch professional, branded donation pages directly linked to their website.

The Payments2Us team guided Homes for Homes through their first campaign setup. This support not only ensured a smooth launch but gave the team confidence to manage future campaigns independently.

Key benefits included:

One source of truth in Salesforce: Every donation flows directly into Salesforce, removing the headaches of external integrations.

Improved donor trust: Pages now match the Homes for Homes brand, replacing what Sam described as “a spammy-looking page” with a professional, seamless experience.

In a time where consumer trust in handing over their data online is challenging, it’s important we are putting forward a solution that is immediately trusted by donors and its legitimacy isn’t questioned.

Ease of use for small teams: A clean, intuitive backend makes it possible for a small team to build and update campaigns without external developers.

Enhanced beauty: Studio Homes for Homes to enrich their donation page with visuals and widgets such as embedded videos, impact blocks, and imagery, creating a more engaging and inspiring journey for donors.

Impact descriptions: Homes for Homes can highlight the tangible impact a specific donation amount will have.

Scalability: Pages can be cloned and rebranded quickly, supporting campaigns for multiple brands under the same umbrella.

Time savings: New campaigns can now be created in about 2 hours by cloning and adapting an existing page. Previously, creating a fresh branded experience would have required far more time and budget.

The major benefit is that everything is in the one place — a single source of truth for our donor data.

Internally, stakeholders called the new page a “long time coming.” For the first time, Homes for Homes felt ready to run direct-to-consumer campaigns, which had previously been held back by poor donation page quality.

What I like about Studio is how intuitive it is. Often the backend of digital programs feel overly complex and hard to navigate. Studio keeps it simple: You don't need a lot of help to get started.
